Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Bergeron Land Development has announced it has received the 2016 Safety Award for Superior Achievement by the Florida Transportation Builder’s Association (FTBA) based on the roadway construction company’s outstanding safety record in 2015. The award was presented at the FTBA’s annual convention earlier this month in Orlando.
According the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) logs reviewed by the FTBA, Bergeron Land Development had 177 employees log more than 245,264 hours with only one injury in 2015.
“At Bergeron, safety comes first. It’s a large part of our culture,” said Bergeron Land Development Founder and President Ronald M. Bergeron, Sr. “Each and every employee must complete the OSHA 30 Hour-Construction Safety Course and all workers, government inspectors, visitors, technicians and subcontractors on our construction sites are required to attend the Site Safety Orientation prior to being allowed on site. Our heavy equipment operators have been tested and certified as Qualified Operators.”
