City of Parkland – Ranches Neighborhood
Client: City of Parkland, Florida
Location: Broward County, Florida
Project Type: Roadway Construction
Procurement Type: Contract – $11,304,800.00, Pump Station Alternate $2,095,200.00
The City of Parkland has hired Bergeron Land Development (BLD) to improve the drainage and resurface the roadways in the Ranches neighborhood.
BLD will dredge the roadside canals to remove sediment to improve water flow and reduce the risk of flooding. We will also clear and grub the canal banks of vegetation to improve drainage and prevent obstruction. Damaged or outdated culverts will be replaced to enhance stormwater management. The canal banks will be restored with Earthwork and sod to prevent erosion and provide long-term durability. The current stormwater system will be upgraded with a new outfall structure and two stormwater pumps to improve the neighborhood’s flood control.
The existing road surfaces will be milled and resurfaced, which may also include reworking the existing road base. BLD will adjust the roadway cross slopes to enhance drainage and improve safety. Where needed, driveways will be partially reconstructed to harmonize with the new road surfaces, new guardrails will be installed, along with new signage and pavement markings.
BLD will convert a portion of Trotters Lane / NW 72 Street to a one-way road, and blue raised pavement markers (RPMs) will be installed to mark fire hydrant locations.
Work will begin in January 2025 and is expected to take a year and half to complete.
