The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) hired Bergeron Land Development (BLD) to improve more than two miles of SR 45 (US 41/Tamiami Trail) from Blackburn Points Road to Preymore Street in Sarasota County, Florida.

The enhancements included a resurfaced roadway, wider pavement, improved drainage, updates to the intelligent transportation system (ITS), a northbound bridge replacement over North Creek, and a modification to the southbound bridge over North Creek.

Additionally, Bergeron Land Development was responsible for milling, resurfacing, shoulder, sidewalk, driveway, curb and gutter reconstruction, signals, signing and pavement markings, lighting, traffic control, utility relocations, and other incidental construction.

The project, which began in January of 2020 was completed in July of 2021 ahead of schedule and under budget.
