Venice Bypass Project Phase II

To continue its efforts to ease traffic congestion along Florida’s west coast, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) hired Bergeron Land Development for Phase II of the Venice Bypass Project in Sarasota County. Bergeron was responsible for turning 1.187 miles of State Road 45A (Venice Connector) from Center Road north to Gulf Coast Boulevard from a four-lane to a six-lane divided highway.
In addition to adding lanes and reconstruction, milling and resurfacing, the project also included adding bike lanes, drainage improvements, box culverts, curb and gutter, concrete boarding pads, asphalt base curb pads, sidewalks, pedestrian/bicycle railing, signing and pavement marking, signalization, lighting and utility work.
In November 2017, Bergeron completed Phase I of the project which covered 1.38 miles of SR 45A/Venice Bypass from Gulf Coast Blvd. to north of Bird Bay Drive.
